Frequently Asked Questions
How much does HRA cost?
• HRA is a very reasonably and competitively priced program. The cost of HRA depends on a number of factors including the Version of HRA purchased, Employee and Operator capacities, any Optional Modules taken and the amount of Implementation Process and Training required. HRA can be either purchased outright or rented on a monthly basis. Please contact us for more details.
What is included in the cost?
• Our costing is All-Inclusive. The purchase Invoice includes the Software License Fee, Software Installation, an Implementation Process Planning (IPP) Service with Progress Sessions, setup of the Parameters, Formulas and Customization within the software, Staff Training, and the first year of the Annual Maintenance Agreement (AMA). The AMA includes Toll-Free Telephone Support, all Software Upgrades and attendance at either of the two Annual Conferences. (see Support Overview for more information)
Who is responsible for the data entry?
• The responsibility of data input and ownership of HRA ultimately rests with the client. On most installations we can bring information from some other system to give a good initial starting point. This initial data can be from another HRIS that is being superseded by HRA, data in spreadsheets, or information from the payroll. We can generally get a good amount of information using our highly developed integration tools for the start of the implementation. Once the data is brought in then the setup of the software starts. This includes customizing HRA for your company through the Global Parameters and the highly customizable code tables. From there the data can be entered by HR, or by the Managers and Employees directly (Employees require the optional Employee Self-Serve Module).
How much experience is needed?
• Obviously, more experience is better but we see all levels of experience in our customers. Some customers have never used or even seen an HRIS while others have experience on many systems. With the former, it is very challenging for software to be comfortable and easy to use from the beginning and it is a testament to the design and concepts within HRA that novice users are up and running so quickly. With the experienced operators we get an informed comparison which helps us to always improve and better our product.
How long does the Implementation Process take?
• HRA Implementation Specialists from VP Software works diligently with each new client to ensure a successful and expedient implementation of HRA. The typical length of time for an Implementation to be up and running is 3-6 months.
What if I have an HRIS already?
• As mentioned above, we can convert data over from existing legacy systems, including an HRIS. In fact, we have converted a great many legacy systems. People change to HRA for a variety of reasons and we are quite used to managing the data from external programs to get the good information out of them and into HRA.
How can I integrate with my payroll?
• Nearly all of our clients are integrated with their payroll system. We can integrate with most payroll programs out there. Steps to run the integration are automatic or take just a few minutes once per payroll run and are very easy to do, depending on the payroll software being used.
What if I am outside of the United States and Canada?
• We are quite used to handling clients in different time zones. We have the technology and means to be able to give live training and support to you no matter what time zone you are in. We have clients ranging from Hawaii, all across North America, the Caribbean, Europe and Africa to the Middle East. We are currently in the process of adding Australia and Asia.
